Dr. Ranoj Pegu is the Cabinet Minister for Education and Welfare of Plain Tribe and Backward Classes of Government of Assam led by Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma. Dr. Pegu represents Dhemaji constituency in the Assam Legislative Assembly. He is the former Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Mising Autonomous Council. In 2019, he won the Dhemaji by-election after Pradan Baruah was elected to Lok Sabha.
